THE THREE HITTING ZONES OF THE BAT

Updated: Mar 18

Most people are unaware that the bat has 3 Zones on its face. The Sweet Spot at the very center of the bat, makeups 1/3 of the bat's face and all you have to do is get close to it and you have a hit. And the farther you go out into the other 2/3 failure zones, are your strikes, popups and your weak infield hits. That means that if your players are using just the bat to practice, they are practicing to fail and why most ball players never hit with any consistencies. As they have learned to use the whole face to hit with, very little accuracy because the bat has a 66% failure rate already built into its face, before you even swing. That means that even though you are fouling off balls, and foolishly thinking your close, you're not even.

Whereas, the 1/3 sweet spot center with the OB-1 The Bat/Trac A.K.A. The Sweet Spot, if you foul balls off of it, they are still hard contacted balls off the bat,, because of its 1/3 sweet spot face has a 100% success rate when contact is made. With all that precision comes great power. As anyone who ever hit a shot off the sweet spot of a bat can attest to.

Welcome to a new day in baseball hitting; The genie is out of the bottle now, you have found that Missing Link, We Cracked the Code.

Now if you can't hit, it means you don't own an OB-1: Bat/Trac.

No Brag Just Fact, and lots of them. Not to exceed 130mph pitched hardball.

As it relates to the hitting surface of a bat, the overall surface can be broken down into 3 individual zones. In the middle is the success zone, also known as the sweet spot, this is where you will earn 99% of your well-swung base hits. As we move out from the Success Zone/Sweet Spot, we begin to enter the failure zones. The failure zones produce weak infield hits, can-of-corn popups, and the vast majority of foul balls, whether said foul-off was intentional or not (We will touch on this concept in a later article). Therefore, the hitting surface of any one bat contains a 33% success rate, and a 66% failure rate from the first contact to the last contact, whether that be in a game or practice.

Evident through graphed statistics, the deterioration of batsmanship is more realized currently than ever before. Thus, we must find a solution to the problem that has initiated such a drastic decline within Americas Pastime – We must find the path forward, or else we will continue to stumble into decline.

Perspective Feedback is the concept in which we rely on the outcome of our processes to dictate how we critique the processes which create our desired outcome. A very reasonable concept, yes, but a concept which will degrade the learning of any one student if the derivation of their desired perfection point consists of any façade-based success which is created through an unperceived fault within their swing, only to be realized after the third strike is called.  A prominent example of Perspective Feedback as the concept relates to batting practice is evidential in the batting cage where a player thinks they are hitting well, when in fact the player is utilizing part of, or the whole portion of either failure zone. Thus, creating an unperceived fault within the batter’s swing.

In consideration of the 3 Hitting Zones of the bat, the concept of “Practice makes Perfect” goes out of the window due to the lack of perfection currently instilled within the face of the bat itself. What’s the solution? A crafted training bat which utilizes only the Sweet Spot of the bat, while capturing an exact weight distribution while retaining the ability to hit hardballs at high speeds.

The problem has been solved – A solution has been found.

Now if you can’t hit, it means you don’t own a Bat/Trac.

No Brag, Just Facts.
